How do I do better web searches?

Use fewer words.

Sometimes less information is more. If you give a search engine two or three or more keywords, it will usually look for results that include ALL of them.

  • If you plug in just one or two keywords, you'll often get better results.
  • If you get too many web sites, you can always refine the search.
    • Start the search with one word to see how many sites you get.
    • Do the search again with that word plus another.
    • Do the search with those two words, plus another, etc...
